Types of Essays

Among the most common kinds of essay is your argumentative essay. Argumentative essayis frequently characterized by an author saying or explaining an opinion, thesis statement, or alternative view, and strengthening it contrary to a different opinion, thesis statement, or alternative view. The arguments can be based on fact, theory, or even private conjecture. This type of essay requires careful discussion and handling. An argumentative essay will usually not win the class, but is often valuable as an introduction into the subject.

Another common type of essay is the Literary essay. Literary essays are written about literary or cultural themes. The article will nearly always be put from a literature classic, including a book, essay, or short story, and draws on examples from that literary work. Literary essays frequently criticize present popular writers also, although they do not need to. This manner of essay often tests the capability to examine and interpret literary substances.

The third most common type of essay is that the body paragraphs. Essays on expository topics normally cope with law, faith, political science, mathematics, science, history, and other similar subjects.
